Nature and lakes

Your next stop in your itinerary in Vancouver is the Cleveland Dam, which holds the water of Capilano Lake, supplying the lower Mainland with water. With the Lions mountains of the North shore as a backdrop, and water flowing over the concrete wall of the dam, it is truly a sight to behold. Near the Cleveland Dam, the Capilano Fish Hatchery is found. This is the site of the spawning of Pacific salmon, as you see schools of fishes flocking together to reproduce. The best time to visit is autumn, where you will get to find different species of fish and salmon.

Skiing and wintersports in Vancouver

Another attraction in Vancouver is the Grouse Mountain. In winter, this place is the best for skiing and other winter sports. In summer, people indulge in hiking while taking in the spectacular views of the mountains. Grouse Mountain is also a refuge to a couple of grizzly bears, which can provide to be entertaining and educational as well. A visit to Grouse Mountain is not complete without going on a gondola ride to The Peak of Vancouver.

Transportations in Vancouver

There are different ways to get to Vancouver. Using a car or bus, you can go through via the Lions Gate Bridge which has been a landmark of the city since 1938. With this route, you will cross the Burrard Inlet and see a breathtaking view of the Strait of Georgia, the picturesque mountains of North Shore as well as downtown Vancouver.

Capilano Suspension Bridge

Your visit to Vancouver can start with the Capilano Suspension Bridge, a bridge of wooden planks at 230 feet above the Capilano River, built by the original settlers in 1889. The surrounding area is filled with tall and majestic cedars and firs from the Pacific Rainforest. These trees form a new addition to the Bridge, the Treetops Adventure wherein they can walk from tree to tree, using walkways and mini suspension bridges and discover and experience for themselves the beauty of these trees. After this unique adventure, they can get souvenirs from the gift shop nearby.
